In the field of agricultural water storage solutions, the corrosion resistance of water tanks is very important. In terms of material selection, our water tanks are made of hot-dip galvanized steel. The steel grade is BGC340, which has a certain corrosion resistance. On top of this, we cover it with a standard zinc coating with a zinc content of 275 grams per square meter and a coating thickness of 1.0 mm. The zinc layer forms a solid protective barrier on the surface of the water tank. When the water tank is exposed to the external environment, the zinc layer will preferentially react with oxygen, moisture, etc. in the air to form a dense zinc oxide protective film, which effectively prevents the steel body from directly contacting the corrosive medium, thereby greatly slowing down the corrosion rate of the steel.
For key components, we use 8.8-grade high-strength galvanized bolts. These bolts are also galvanized, which echoes the galvanizing process of the water tank body. While ensuring the connection strength, the bolts' own corrosion resistance is greatly enhanced. Its service life exceeds 15 years, ensuring that the overall structural stability of the water tank will not be affected by bolt corrosion during long-term use.
The high-strength hot-dip galvanized corrugated sheet of the water tank is galvanized on both sides. This double-sided protection design further enhances the anti-corrosion effect. The double-sided zinc layer is like putting two layers of "anti-corrosion armor" on the corrugated sheet. No matter which direction the corrosive medium in the external environment invades, it can be effectively blocked by the zinc layer, making the service life of the corrugated sheet more than 15 years.
In addition, the 1 mm thick PVC or TPU lining inside the water tank also plays an important role in corrosion resistance. These lining materials have good chemical stability and good tolerance to water and some chemicals that may be contained in the water. They can not only prevent water from corroding the steel on the inner wall of the water tank, but also avoid local corrosion caused by impurities in the water adhering to the inner wall of the water tank, further extending the service life of the water tank.
