The maintenance cost of bolted steel silos is also relatively low. Due to the good anti-corrosion performance of steel plates, only simple inspections and maintenance are needed on a daily basis, normally including the following aspects:
1. Periodical Inspection:
Regularly inspect the appearance of the steel silo to check if the steel sheets have any deformation, corrosion or other conditions. Especially after bad weather such as heavy rain and strong wind, it is necessary to check the sealing performance and structural integrity of the silo in a timely manner. For bolted connection parts, check whether the bolts are loose. If any are loose, tighten them in time.
2. Preservative Treatment:
Although the steel sheet has undergone anti-corrosion treatment, with the passage of time and the influence of the environment, the anti-corrosion layer may be damaged. Therefore, regular anti-corrosion maintenance of steel silos should be carried out, such as repairing damaged anti-corrosion layers and repainting anti-corrosion paint and etc.
3. Inside Silo Cleaning:
Regularly clean the silo to remove any remaining materials and impurities to prevent the accumulation of materials inside, which could lead to corrosion and blockage. During the cleaning process, safety should be given due attention to avoid accidents such as dust explosions.
4. Maintenance of Material Discharge System:
The discharge system is the most important component of the steel silo. Regular inspection and maintenance of the discharge equipment should be carried out to ensure its normal operation. For instance, check the sealing of the discharge valve, the transmission components of the conveyor, and etc., and replace the worn parts in a timely manner.
