As an important component of the modern grain storage system, steel plate silos with flat bottoms are widely used in grain storage, processing, and transshipment due to their advantages such as stable structure, economical cost, and convenient maintenance.
A flat-bottomed silo mainly consists of the following parts:
Silo Body System: Constructed from Q235 or Q345 steel plates, rolled and connected by bolts or welding to form a cylindrical body. The thickness varies from 4mm to 12mm depending on the silo capacity and diameter.
Bottom Structure: A reinforced concrete cast-in-place base slab, typically 150-250mm thick, with a wear-resistant surface treatment. The slope is controlled at 0.5%-1% to facilitate emptying.
Supporting Facilities: Includes a ventilation system (axial flow fan, circulating fumigation device), a temperature measurement system (distributed fiber optic or resistive sensors), grain loading & unloading equipment (screw conveyor, scraper conveyor) and etc.

Bolted Steel Silo --- Silo Body
Features:
- Silo sheet materials: domestic and imported high-quality SGH series steel sheets;
- Corrugated steel silo sheets are produced by using the PLC Silo production line, with a corrugation pitch of 80mm;
- All corrugated sheets are connected by using 8.8-10.9 grade high-strength bolts, with waterproof rubber pads and aviation sealant for sealing. The edges of the corrugated sheets are sealed with aviation sealant.
Bolted Steel Silo --- Silo Stiffener
Features:
- Stiffener material: SGH440 high-strength hot-dip galvanized steel;
- Stiffeners are produced by using the PLC Stiffener Production Line with the international advanced processing technology. The new W-type column has an unformed width of 330mm and is treated with hot-dip galvanizing process for corrosion resistance.

Features:
- The interior of the silo is relatively smooth to reduce the material accumulation;
- The silo has an entire strong structure and is aesthetically appearance.
- When installing insulation, the surface is flat and visually appealing.
Bolted Steel Silo --- Roof Sheets
Features:
- Roof sheet material: Hot-dip galvanized steel, aluminum-zinc coated or aluminum-magnesium-zinc coated.
- The roof sheet is roll-formed in one piece, no need for assembly, with high accuracy of dimension and excellent sealing.
Internal Installation of Silo Stiffener
Features:
- Stiffeners are installed inside the silo, reducing the risk of corrosion.
- Cost-effective.
